Our dog was stolen from a boarding kennels in Portugal. We were told that the I'd on her chip is only unique to the country of origin. So if she was taken to, say Spain, her id would be useless. There are plenty of animal lovers and by implanting the chip into their pet this will allow them to keep tabs of their whereabouts should they become lost. Kudos to the inventor.
