slotMusic

Music, Retail and Tech Leaders to Offer “slotMusic™”: High Quality, DRM-Free MP3 Music on microSD™ Cards. slotMusic cards enable consumers to instantly and easily enjoy music from their favorite artists without being dependent on a PC or internet connection. Users simply insert the slotMusic card into their microSD-enabled mobile phone or MP3 player to hear the music – without passwords, downloading or digital-rights-management interfering with their personal use.

SanDisk has released this news on their new slotMusic cards - albums available on microSD cards. This idea seems messy to me and destined to be a flump. Would you buy slotMusic cards?

I actually read about this earlier, but all the bit that I read (summary) was that labels were going to be releasing albums on "mini flash memory cards". I think microSD might be a bad idea because even though it is a fairly widely accepted format, not EVERYONE can use it. I do however thing if they had to choose an SD format (micro, mini, or SD) micro was the best choice. You can get one of those fancy pants micro/mini/SD kits for like $10 at Target so if your phone only takes miniSD (like mine) you pop the microSD card into the miniSD adapter and you're set to go.

Twitter

We’re changing things up a bit! Instead of Money Monday today, we bring you Media Monday. Today’s topic is… Twitter.

Twitter continues to gain momentum even when many said it wasn’t going to make it (downtime, lack of interest). With every few blogs I browse through, a few will have their Twitter updates shining from a corner of their page. Even when I watch TV, I see newscasters mentioning comments from their Twitter followers.

Are you on Twitter yet? If not, why? It seems like eventually everyone is going to have an account, for some reason.

I am on Twitter, mostly replying to direct messages, but I've moved over to Rejaw (http://rejaw.com). The appeal to Rejaw is having 1,000 characters to type in and that it runs in real-time, there's also threads to make comments in. While Twitter is great for stating "What are you doing?", I find Rejaw is a lot better for having conversations. The only problem is that all the users are still on Twitter and refusing to move to new services unless their followers move as well. One can only hope they all discover Rejaw and enjoy it. wink

Yes. I'm on twitter. I've actually met some great people via Twitter. In fact, I've found some other fire families. It's been a great time. Even the political banter.

I'm on Twitter, but hardly use it anymore. Need to add it to my blog layout somehow.
